As you may know, Little League is a community based, all volunteer organization dedicated to providing the best opportunity to all youths, regardless of ability or gender. As a sponsor, you are providing the children of our community an opportunity to have fun and build character.

A little about why we need sponsors...

Within our boundaries, we are limited to playing fields that belong to the school district. However, due to the rapid growth of our communities, the school district does not have adequate funding to maintain these playing fields. In addition, there is no Parks and Recreation with the funding or facilities for our league to use like many other communities have. Therefore, it falls upon our volunteer efforts and the generosity of people like you to give both time and money in order to put on a successful Little League.

During the spring and fall 2005 seasons, we reached our goal to have at least one sponsor for every team. In 2006, we hope to do likewise.

A little about where you money goes...

Every year we spend the vast majority of the fees collected from player registrations to provide uniforms,  umpires and safe team equipment for more than 40 teams. Any monies left over go towards field maintenance and improvement. Two years ago we were required to replace the field lights at Sonoran Trails Middle School due to safety problems. This cost our league more than $45,000. In 2006, we are trying to raise enough money to make improvements (including installing lights) that would provide us with two additional lighted fields. The total estimated cost for this project exceeds $230,000. While we have received a grant from the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority for $110,000, we obviously have a lot of additional funding to raise.

With the continued growth of our community, we are in need of installing lights on at least one and possibly two more fields. The school district has approved our plans to place lights on these fields, but they will not contribute any money towards these efforts. Thus it is up to our fundraising efforts to generate the funding necessary to add lights and improve the fields for all players.
