Introduction
This page contains the local league rules for Cactus Foothills North
Little League. The local rules do not replace or supersede Little
League International rules, regulations, and/or policies.

Section 1: General
1.01:
|
The rules stated herein compliment Little League’s official regulations
and playing rules for softball. Little League International rules
over-ride local rules. All rules and regulations from Little League
Softball (from the Little League International Official Regulations and
Playing Rules for Softball) apply. |
Section 2: Age
2.01:
|
A player’s age shall be no less than 11 years and no more than 12
years. A player of age 10 years may play with approval from the Player
Agent and Board of Directors. |
Section 3: Pitching
3.01:
|
The distance from home plate to the pitching rubber shall be 40 feet. |
Section 4: Field Positions
4.01:
|
There shall be a maximum of 9 players in the field. |
4.02:
|
A player shall spend a maximum of 2 innings on the bench. |
4.03:
|
A player shall spend no more than 1 consecutive inning on the bench. |
Section 5: Play
5.01:
|
An official umpire shall officiate the game. |
5.02:
|
The home team shall provide two game balls. |
5.03:
|
A player shall spend no more than 1 consecutive inning on the bench. |

All balls shall be 11” regulation softballs. |
| 5.05: |
A game shall last no more than 6 innings unless upon completion of 6 innings, the game remains tied. |
| 5.06: |
An inning shall not begin later than 1 hour and 45 minutes after the game’s start time. |
| 5.07: |
Each team’s batting order shall consist of all players present for the game; i.e., all players bat. |
| 5.08: |
Players arriving after the game has begun shall be placed at the bottom of the batting order. |
| 5.09: |
After 4 innings, if one team is ahead by 10 or more runs, the game shall end with the leading team declared the winner. |
| 5.10: |
A baserunner may attempt to steal a base upon a pitched ball crossing home plate. |
| 5.11: |
Leading off of bases shall not be allowed. |
| 5.12: |
Until such time as an umpire calls time-out, the ball shall be considered in play. |
| 5.13: |
For any overthrow that remains in the field of play, a baserunner may advance as many bases as she chooses at her own risk. |
| 5.14: |
For each game, the designated Home team shall provide an official scorekeeper. |
| 5.15: |
It shall be the responsibility of the designated Visiting team to
verify all scoring information with the official scorekeeper before,
during, and after the game. |
