Section 1: General
| 1.01: |
The rules stated herein compliment Little League’s official regulations and playing rules for softball. Little League International rules over-ride local rules. All rules and regulations from Little League Softball (from the Little League International Official Regulations and Playing Rules for Softball) apply. |
Section 2: Age
| 2.01: |
A player’s age shall be no less than 7 years and no more than 8 years. Under special circumstances a player of age 9 years may play with approval from the Player Agent and Board of Directors. |
Section 3: Pitching
| 3.01: |
A coach shall pitch to his own team. |
| 3.02: | The distance from home plate to the pitching rubber shall be between 25 feet and 35 feet. |
| 3.03: | Each batter shall receive a maximum of 7 pitches to put the ball into play. A player who hits a foul ball on the 7th pitch is allowed to continue her plate appearance. | 3.04: | No walks shall be allowed. |
Section 4: Field Positions
| 4.01: |
There shall be a maximum of 11 players in the field. |
| 4.02: |
There shall be a maximum of 6 players in the infield (pitcher, catcher, 1st baseman, 2nd basemen, 3rd baseman, shortstop). |
| 4.03: |
Outfielders shall be positioned with both feet in the outfield grass. |
| 4.04: |
A player shall play at least one inning in the infield. Note: A coach should attempt to divide the number of innings played in the infield as evenly as possible between the players and give all players an opportunity to play all positions throughout the season subject to safety concerns; i.e., a player who has difficulty catching thrown balls should not be placed at first base. |
| 4.05: |
A player shall spend a maximum of 2 innings on the bench. |
| 4.06: |
A player shall spend no more than 1 consecutive inning on the bench. |
Section 5: Play
| 5.01: |

| 5.06: | Each team’s batting order shall consist of all players present for the game; i.e., all players bat. |
| 5.07: | Players arriving after the game has begun shall be placed at the bottom of the batting order. |
| 5.08: | A "side" is retired in accordance with Little League Rule 5.07 for Minor League divisions, which are divisions between Tee Ball and Majors. A side is retired when:
IMPORTANT NOTE: Only 5 runs count at any time in any inning. Extra runs scored as a result of any ongoing play are NOT counted - - just the 5 runs that have scored only. |
| 5.09: | All umpiring shall be carried out by coaches. |
| 5.10: | There shall be no base-stealing allowed. |
| 5.11: | There shall be no bunting allowed. |
| 5.12: | Leading off of bases shall not be allowed. |
| 5.13: | A maximum of one base on any overthrow is allowed. Note: The purpose
of Farm is to teach the players the proper way to play the game. When
directing his players around the bases, a coach should use reasonable
judgment; i.e., a coach should not direct his players to attempt to
indiscriminately take extra bases simply because the fielders are
unlikely to execute both a good throw and successful catch. |
| 5.14: | The ball shall be considered dead when it has been returned to the (pitching) coach. |
| 5.15: | A maximum of 2 coaches shall be allowed on the field of play. |
| 5.16: |
Any batted or thrown ball that strikes a coach in the field of play field shall be considered a live ball. |
