All-Star Team Selection Process
Detailed Description of the All-Star team selection process
Introduction
Nothing is more important to Cactus Foothills North Little League than having a

The process defined by Cactus Foothills North Little League takes into account several factors:
- Regular season performance and playing ability
- Performance via a skills assessment
- Input from managers/coaches and peers via a nomination and voting process
- Availability during the summer to attend ALL all-star events (evaluations, etc), practices, and games
The Cactus Foothills North All-Star Team Selection Process is detailed on this page.

The All-Star Team selection process is a fair and equitable process for all players. It is designed to be objective and fact-based - removing subjectivity, favoritism, bias, and opinions as much as possible from the selection of players for our teams.
Cactus Foothills North uses a "weighted" system to determine players for its All-Star teams. The system has the following components:

All-Star Team Selection Process Steps in Detail
There are multiple steps in the All-Star Team Selection process. Those steps are detailed here:
- Before a player is nominated for the All-Star team, the nominating manager must confirm the player's availability and ability to participate fully in ALL practices and games. While there is no restriction on the number of players that can be nominated, managers are required to nominate only the best players from their teams based on (1) regular season performance; (2) playing ability; and (3) availability to participate in ALL practices and games.
- If the player meets the requirements as noted above (see Player Eligibility Requirements), the manager nominates the player for the All-Star team
- Peers, managers, and coaches in the same division as the nominees will vote on the nominees in order - best, to next best, and so on.
- The voting system is weighted so that the ratio of voting managers\coaches to players is balanced. Votes are tallied and each player is given a score based on the weighting used, the votes received, and the ranking (best, next best, and so on) as judged by managers, coaches, and peers in the voting.
- Players with the highest scores are invited to the All-Star Skills and Evaluation Day where they will demonstrate their skills and playing ability to the All-Star Selection Committee and the All-Star team manager via drills and related activities.
- Based on the combined scores of the voting process and the skills assessment, players are selected for the All-Star teams
- The All-Star team manager will contact all All-Star candidates that attended the skills assessment and indicate whether or not he or she made the team.
- The Cactus Foothills North Board of Directors announces the All-Star team(s) to the League membership
