Late Registration FAQs
Q. What do I do if I have missed registration?
A. If you missed the scheduled walk-in registration sessions, there is a late registration process. (NOTE: Please make every effort to be at registration. Late registration delays the formation of teams and the scheduling of games for all players!)
Q. What are the steps in the late registration process?
A. There are two steps in the late registration process. Step 1: Fill out the online registration questionnaire. Step 2: Complete registration materials and instructions provided to you in e-mail to register your child/children.
Q. Why is there a late registration fee?
A. We receive discounts from vendors such as uniforms, pictures and trophies, when we can order in advance. Having to add players after we have placed orders means the costs for each late registered player are higher. It is also intended to discourage late registration, because of the extra burden it places upon all the league volunteers and registration processes.
Q. What is the late registration fee?
A. The late registration fee is an additional $25.00 PER CHILD added to the normal registration fee for playing in the season.
Q. Why do you need the player address?
A. We must verify that each player lives within our Little League boundaries. Each Little League is assigned boundaries and only players who reside within those boundaries may participate in our league activities. If we allow a player to participate who does not reside within our boundaries, our league could be disqualified from all tournament and All-Star games.
Q: What happens if I am not in your league boundaries?
A: If we knowing allow a player to participate in our league who lives outside our boundaries, we could forfiet our league charter. If you are not within our league, we will notify you and provide you with information on the Little League you are in. (With the exception of the National Forest to the north, each of our boundaries touches on another Little League). Check the CFLL-N League boundary map to be sure you live within the boundaries.
Q. Why do you need to see an original birth certificate?
A. We are required to view an original birth certicate (which has the emboseed or raised seal) for each player prior to the start of each season. Each League must be able to certify that this process has been completed, and failure to do so can result in the revocation of our league charter.
Little League is very strict on the age requirements for participation. This ensures a fair playing field and also creates a safer playing environment for all players. (Imagine having a 6 foot tall 13 year old throwing a 70 mph fastball at a 4-1/2 foot tall 10 year old!)
In the past, CFLL-North kept a photocopy of an original birth ceritificate. However, due to the current Homeland Security concerns, we have been advised to not keep any copies of players birth certificates. Copies of birth certificates obtained during late registration to validate a player's age will be destroyed after age verification.
